Save Space in the Kitchen by Cleverly Organizing the Small Appliances
To help you save space in the kitchen, you may want to consider organizing the small appliances first, because they are the ones that take the most space. Today, we’ve gathered some practical tips on how to save space in your kitchen by organizing your small appliances in the most proper way.
If you enjoy spending time in the kitchen cooking meals for your family or try various recipes, you will want to opt for different types of kitchen appliances that can make your life easier. However, if you are dealing with insufficient space, things can get a bit trickier. In this article, you will find some useful tips on how to store and organize your small appliance properly.
Only keep what you need
Before adding additional shelves or installing more kitchen cabinets you must first make sure that you are not filling your kitchen with unnecessary appliances that you can certainly live without. For instance, you might want to sell any duplicates that you may have in the kitchen or appliances that you have not used for the last 6 months.
Pare down your kitchen appliances
If you have a small kitchen and you don’t have space to store all of your small appliances, then I think it’s time to opt for appliances that have multiple uses because they are extremely practical. Besides, you will manage to save some money in the long term by not having to spend on other devices. A stock pot can easily replace a rice cooker, for example, while a high-quality blender can serve as a food processor or vice-versa.
Hide away the appliances that you use less often
Unless you are planning to use your bread maker every day, make sure to hide it in your kitchen cabinet or on a shelf. Bread makers are useful devices that help you make a flavorful bread in less than two hours, but the major disadvantage of owning such a device is the fact that they are generally very heavy and large, so make sure you store it properly. A coffee maker, on the other hand, is a device that most people use every day, so you might want to keep it within your reach. Consider opting for a compact coffee maker that can nicely sit on your countertop without taking a lot of space.
Storing the parts of the appliances
The majority of small appliances come with interchangeable parts and each one has a major role but if not organized properly you can create a lot of clutter. Make sure to store the parts in containers, baskets or even in a chine cabinet. The key is to place the blades and other small parts that came with the appliance next to it so that it’s easier for you to grab what you need and start cooking.
